‘Escape to Margaritaville’: An audience getaway

I had the opportunity to see ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE (the Jimmy Buffett musical) just days before it was set to close on Broadway after a rather short and criticized run.  Having read many of the show’s reviews, I was honestly not anticipating a life-changing night at the Marquis.  But, sitting in that crowded theater—frozen margarita in hand—I had a genuinely wonderful time.  Was it the most revolutionary Broadway show I have ever seen? Certainly not.  Did it brighten my hump day during a tough week?  Yes.  (Is that enough to grace the Great White Way?  I’ll let you be the judge.)…READ MORE
