Amanda Kloots is known for her moves—on stage and now in the fitness industry. Amanda grew up dancing in Ohio and got her big break tapping in the national tour of 42ndSTREET. She went on to kick with the Radio City Rockettes and dance on Broadway in shows like GOOD VIBRATIONS, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, FOLLIES, and BULLETS OVER BROADWAY. But after her fourth Broadway show closed unexpectedly, Amanda decided to take her career into her own hands. “I was coming to an age where I really wanted to have something of my own,” she remembers. “As a performer, your future is always so uncertain. I needed to take that control back.”
Combining her love of dance with her passion for fitness, Amanda created her own workout trifecta—AK! Rope, AK! Dance, and AK! Body. Each class is a full-body workout that incorporates both cardio and strength training to create long, lean muscles like a dancer.
Jump-roping and dance cardio classes are nothing new, but Amanda’s star power and experience as a performer and teacher have made her a force to be reckoned with in the fitness industry. Her effervescent smile, infectious energy, and fun dance moves pack studios across the country and the world!
Now pregnant with a baby boy, Amanda continues to teach—and especially focuses on workouts for expecting and new moms (She just launched her new line of workout videos available on her website, AK! Baby Bump). “It’s not easy to start your own business,” she admits. But she’s discovered newfound freedom, joy, and control of her career as a dancer.
